The SPANISH 1 course is a small group class that will introduce students to the Spanish language using the four basic communication skills: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Students will be provided with instruction that teaches a basic understanding of Spanish culture, vocabulary, and grammar concepts. Students will develop a beginning reading and conversational ability, laying the foundation for further study of the language. The course emphasizes understanding and practical application rather than rote memory. Students can expect homework, quizzes, a mid-term and a final. Grades will be given.
